BBGM designed a flagship Hampton Inn following the opening of the Nationals Ballpark on First Street in SE DC. The rainscreen cladding system incorporated a 2’ X 4’ porcelain tile in portrait installation using an exposed clip attachment system, with the clips color mated the to the tiles. The high-performance building envelop used a 2” rigid Polyiso insulation in the rainscreen cavity in addition to the interior batt insulated studs. The porcelain tile finish from the Ceramic5 Metallics Collection, was an etched metal finish tile from that has excellent graffiti resistance, moisture resistance and zero maintenance for the skin of the building. The subframing systems was a thermally broken HCI.10 from Eco Cladding.
