In 2017 the Columbia Association opened a state of the art tennis facility in the Village of Owen Brown in Columbia, MD.
GTM Architects incorporated Swisspearl® fiber cement rainscreen panels to create a fresh, contemporary entrance to the 6 court facility.
The design used three colors of cement fiber, featuring a beautiful Reflex metallic blue finish. The open joint blue panels with the mill finish aluminum subframing evoking the rhythm of racket strings. The multi-color Carat white and gray slats compliment the tall structure with a random plank to the right of the entrance providing a very sharp entrance. While not a large project, the Swisspearl rainscreen cladding provides a depth of color and panel durability dress up an otherwise basic metal building.
